Timed intercourse is a simple technique that does not require the use of an IVF laboratory. It consists of synchronizing unprotected intercourse with the time closest to the woman's ovulation, aiming to increase the probability of conception.

It is possible to use two methods for timed intercourse: taking advantage of the woman's natural cycle or through ovarian stimulation.

Timed intercourse supports:

• Women under 35 years old
• No apparent infertility problems
• With at least one patent fallopian tube
• Regular and/or irregular menstrual cycles
• When the male sperm has normal parameters, among others.

There are two types of technique

Natural cycle

Timed intercourse based on the natural cycle does not require the use of medications, only ovulation monitoring is carried out through follicular tracking by ultrasound and blood tests. This allows determining the ideal days to have sexual intercourse and increase the chances of getting pregnant.

Ovarian stimulation

Timed intercourse can be combined with ovarian stimulation in the woman. This is achieved by using medications that induce follicular growth and increase the likelihood of pregnancy.

• Can be performed by daily administration of oral or subcutaneous medication for an average of 10 days.
• Ultrasounds and blood tests are performed on a regular basis to monitor and control the growth of the follicles.
• Doctor will indicate the most favorable days for intercourse.
